 you will find fully documented cases of extreme injustice inflicted by the current District Attorney’s office where the emphasis has been totally on the quantity of convictions rather than the quality of justice.

The result has been cases horrifying and threatening to all taxpayers and, in particular, to those who own businesses and property here. Cases where thieves have used this proclivity of the District Attorney office to assist them in theft from honest, law abiding, citizens!

In one of the cases a Deputy Constable was assisting a man in the attempted theft of trade secrets. The victim called HPD and stopped the theft. However; to cover for the illegal acts of the Deputy Constable the District Attorneys office charged the victim! As the victim presented evidence of their error the prosecutors responded by engaging in a win at all cost prosecution and the destruction of the victims’ business and livelihood.

Informed Citizens has carefully reviewed the Candidates for this office and firmly believe Jim Leitner is the best opportunity to return safety and justice to Harris County. Mr. Leitner has not accepted our endorsement stressing his desire to maintain his position of Independence. We highly respect this as an example of exactly what this County needs in its next District Attorney. We need a leader and not a puppet of special interests.

In another case a thief went to the District Attorney’s office accusing his target of theft. The District Attorney’s office initiated unlawful action. The victim called the Attorney General’s office and the Department of Justice. The District Attorneys office, rather than admit their error, attempted to cover for the prosecutor in their office. In retaliation the District Attorney’s office engaged in obstruction of justice and attacked the victim in a win at all cost, by whatever means, prosecution of the victim and destruction of their business and reputation. In a rare reversal, from an Appellate Court known to be stacked with the influence of Johnny Holmes, the conviction of the victim was reversed. The District Attorneys office was provided with solid proof of fraud and commercial bribery by the accuser but has refused to charge them in their effort to hide their own misdeeds. The result was the District Attorneys office became a tool of the thief!

Today the laws allowing the seizure and forfeiture of property make it imperative for all citizens to be extremely careful in the selection of their District Attorney. These laws cause the overzealous and unscrupulous within the law enforcement establishment to target those with property and position. Under the current District Attorney’s office police and prosecutors who witness these excesses are afraid to come forward. They have witnessed Holmes efforts to cover for all in law enforcement regardless of their actions.
